“Building Our Futures” The voluntary sector’s vision for equalities and human rights in Scotland

25th November 10.15am to 3.00pm, Glasgow City Chambers

Policy decision-makers are increasingly recognising the voluntary sector’s contribution to building equalities and human rights in Scotland. This conference will provide space for the voluntary sector to articulate its own vision for building equalities in our society over the next 5 years, and to identify priority actions to deliver this.

  • Engage with our Keynote Speaker Richard Wilkinson, author of groundbreaking work on the damage that bigger income differences do to whole societies, to population health and the frequency of numerous social problems
  • Hear the latest analysis on the policy environment at national and local levels for voluntary organisations tackling inequalities
  • Share with others your vision for equalities and human rights in Scotland
  • Build a voluntary sector agenda for action and get the response to this from a panel of representatives from Scottish Government, Equalities and Human Rights Commission, the Scottish Human Rights Commission, NHS Health Scotland, and voluntary sector intermediaries
  • Conference outcomes will be presented to Government and Parliament.

To book your place, please contact helen.swatton@scvo.org.uk (tel 0141 225 8019) Please book as early as possible to avoid disappointment.  Voluntary organisations and NGOs will be offered a subsidised rate of £35+VAT (£50+VAT for others) with a bursary available on application for those unable to meet this fee.
