INCLUDEM

INCLUDEM is a Scottish charity dedicated to redressing the social exclusion of the most vulnerable and chaotic young people in Scotland.  We are committed to our key founding principles to challenge offending behaviour, support young people and develop hope for the future through one to one relationships.

We work in partnership with local authorities to focus on:

  • the highest risk young people with the most complex and challenging needs and behaviours including offending, welfare and health needs;
  • young people who are characterised by a chaotic lifestyle and/or mistrust of services which make them difficult to engage with and for whom our flexible and responsive service approach is effective;
  • those who have often exhausted and/or screened out by other services.

Our services are available at the times, and in the places, where immediate support is needed; 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, in both a community and residential setting.

Do you want to join a National Respite team dedicated to supporting these young people on a short term, one to one basis by providing professional crisis intervention through respite care?

Then join Includem:

We are currently recruiting for the following posts that will support young people in Fife, the Central Belt and Ayrshire:

This key role within Includem will provide assistance and support to deliver high quality professional structured time-out for young people and their families, by providing intensive support and a range of resources to enable them to engage in positive behaviors.  A high degree of flexibility and commitment is essential together with experience of effective engagement with young people, their families and professional workers through the development of safe, professional committed and respectful relationships.  Excellent standard of writing reports and providing written evidence of outcomes on the work undertaken is also essential.

In order to apply you must have good experience of working with young people similar to those which Includem support, a relevant academic qualification and registration with Scottish Social Services Council.  In addition, you should have gained SVQ level 3 qualification in Social Care, or equivalent, or alternatively be willing to work towards achieving this.

If you would like more in-depth information on the role or the geographical location of the Respite Service please telephone Grace Thomson, Operational Manager, on 0141 951 8100.

If you like what you hear about Includem, but do not meet the criteria to apply for the Assistant Project Worker post, then why not join us as a:

In return we will pay a competitive sessional rate of £8.66 per hour, plus expenses.  Mentors are required to work as part of the team.  The respite residential support, involves shift work, including some waking nights and sleepovers.
