“The Role of Lifelong Learning in the Empowerment of Disabled Citizens” Glasgow Disability Alliance (GDA) Learning Festival & Elections Hustings 2009

Learning For All: this free, half-day event organised by Glasgow Disability Alliance marks the Launch of the Learning Festival 2009. Specifically, the Festival will celebrate the role of lifelong learning in empowering disabled citizens of Glasgow.

For disabled people, the chance to try out fun, learning tasters and have all access needs met- see leaflet and booking form.

For guests and staff from wider organisations, the event offers the opportunity to come together with disabled people and learn from their experiences in relation to learning and empowerment- see booking form.

Aims include increasing awareness of disabled people’s right to independent living and the importance of partnership working to ensure full empowerment and inclusion of disabled people in every aspect of personal, political, social, community, learning, economic and cultural life.

The Learning Festival will celebrate with learning workshop tasters for disabled learners as well as an Elections Question Time which will raise the issues important to disabled people in the imminent European Elections. Guests are welcome to join us in the Question Time session.
